LA Wedding Photography – Los Angeles Wedding Photographers

Rachel + Dustin know a thing or two about throwing a bright, modern, big family dinner party wedding, which isn’t surprising if you know Rachel through her thoughtful, crafty blog, Heart of Light. Using lots of movement, turquoise, coral and yellow, they were able to incorporate some of Dustin’s Mexican heritage without going too literal and making it look themed. Modern invitations, the prettiest paper flowers, an incredible streamer backdrop, terrarium centerpieces, and a gourmet food truck – sounds amazing, looks amazing, and I’m so excited to share it with you! If you are a DIY bride and looking for an stunning but affordable Los Angeles wedding venue then I suggest you take a look at George C. Goehller Alumni House as well as some of these posts from the brides blog about planning a Los Angeles wedding.

Sometime I have to pinch myself – I feel so fortunate that out of literally hundreds of Los Angeles wedding photographers they chose me to share their day with them, and trusted me to capture those natural moments perfectly. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!  So grateful to work with such lovely people and I will continue to try and be one of the best Los Angeles wedding photographers my clients can find! Big thanks to the girls at 100 Layer Cake for featuring my work again! See more photos here from this affordable Los Angeles wedding venue.

If you would like to see more photos or learn how Rachel created some of these amazing details for her Los Angeles wedding please swing over to 100 Layer Cake  - there’s more ‘Los Angeles colorfully crafted wedding photography‘ to get inspiration from as well as a DIY tutorial on how to make a similar ‘festive streamer backdrop‘.

amypunky photography - Lovely wedding!!!

September 14, 2011 - 8:14 pm

Dixie - Wow! Your photos are simply stunning!!

September 16, 2011 - 7:11 am

Greta (mother-of-the-bride) - Even if you didn’t know how to shoot into the light, I would still think you were brilliant! And your photographs are brilliant, too. I can hardly wait to see the rest and relive the memories. Rachel chose the perfect photographer when she chose you. Thank you so much for all your work. (BTW – I have been to too many weddings where the photographer ran the show like it was happening just for the benefit of the camera. But you were so discrete as to be nearly invisible, which you would have been had you not been so lovely yourself. You didn’t break the spell of that magical evening.)
P.S. My husband is still trying to work out how you did it.;)

September 16, 2011 - 7:38 am

Caitlin - Beautiful images, that last one is amazing!

September 16, 2011 - 1:39 pm

April - Being fairly new to the world of photography, I always stop by your site for inspiration. Most photographers that I have seen use virtually no light for their photos which I find makes the photos resemble that matte look while I look for light to bring the subjects together. And all I can say is…wow! I will agree with the mother-of-the-bride here and say that you have captured the love between the couple perfectly. Like her, I too hate photographers that insist on perfect photos that exude a photoshoot. To me, this is beyond perfect and something that I hope one day I’ll be able to perfect. I love Rachel’s blog and if she has requested you, do doubt you are perfect at what you do!

September 18, 2011 - 8:50 am

Debra - These are absolute gorgeous and exactly what I would want. The lighting is beautiful, the colors are great, and they exude love. Perfect. Congrats Rachel!

September 20, 2011 - 9:01 am

Sarah & Doug – Rustic Chic Barn Wedding

Down a small dirt road, in a clearing surrounded by mountains and pine trees, there was a wedding. And a kick-ass party.
And love.
Lots and lots of love.

Oh and if you are in Colorado and looking for an amazing bluegrass band then take a look at The Kentucky Parlor Pickers – they were so amazing when it was time for them to leave and the DJ to start there was a mutiny and most everyone tried to bribe them to stay – they are really really really good!! Book them!

Bolinas – San Francisco Wedding Photography

Amelia and Will had planned a day reminiscent of relaxed, sunny Sunday afternoon spent catching up with close friends and family. They rented an incredible house in the beautiful area of Bolinas and really just wanted a no fuss, no itinerary kind of wedding day.  The type of day that was all about celebrating real love and good friendships. You can tell by the photos that they nailed it!

These last four photos remind me of a Dashboard Confessional song:

I watch you spin around in your highest heels
You are the best one, of the best ones
We all look like we feel

You have stolen my
You have stolen my
You have stolen my heart

July 1, 2011 - 6:46 am

Jessica - Great candid photos you have taken here. Also love your use of light! All kind of magical really and makes me wish I was at this wedding!

July 4, 2011 - 7:12 am

Allison Hammond - The color scheme and flower arrangements are simply gorgeous! What types of flowers were used? I see peonies, sage, mint, rosemary, and white roses – but those blue flowers are unique!

July 26, 2011 - 10:48 am

Meredith Law - The stunning blue flowers are Anemones, thistle, and delphinium. Amelia and Will were a joy to work with and they collected all the vintage blue containers themselves.

August 7, 2011 - 10:21 pm

Britt spring - Speechless & jealous, you are awesome & I love you! B xxxxxxx
