Carlos and Angel are two of the cutest, most in love people I have ever photographed. They are what real love looks like! The cute cake was actually made by Angel herself. She is an trained pastry chef and actually makes wedding cakes – this girl is going places and brilliant at what she does! If you are looking for gorgeous, yummy and super affordable cakes then take a look at her website. Even though I styled this shoot myself I have to say a big thanks to TAMY OTTOMEYER for all the gorgeous lacy paper doilies that I turned into flags and placed all over the place for the vintagy fancy look. She has a lot of different stuff for DIY wedding decor so please take a look at her SHOP. Also I was in love with the ‘ You Are My Sunshine’ heart with hessian bag from the moment i saw it….this is from an amazing online store called INKLORE. Sam makes lots of cool handmade things so please do check out her store ….she can even personalize those cute little hessian bags so you could use them as wedding favors too!

I am getting married in Durango, Colorado this September. I really wish that I had found you for our wedding. I absolutely love your photos!! I have been looking at wedding blogs for several months now (junebug, greenweddingshoes, greylikesweddings, 100 layer cake, etc.) Anyway, I pay special attention to the actual photos, photography is my favorite form of art. The picture from this shoot in the fourth row down has to be one of my absolute favorites of all the photos I have seen. Amazing work! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ooooooh! Double feature in Colorado Bride Magazine!! So excited!! The first feature is of Katy and Randy’s gorgeous Piney River Ranch Wedding! But of course they got featured…..such a gorgeous couple and so many beautiful details to drool over! In the second feature I was interviewed for the article ‘The Secrets of Extraordinary Engagement Photos’ and they used a photo from Jake and Lindsay’s mock engagement shoot (who incidentally are now officially engaged and will be having a proper engagement shoot soon…stay tuned for some amazing photos of these two beautiful beings on this blog soon!!) As always I am appreciative to everyone involved in my photography life…the beautiful clients who love my work and let me share their wedding day with them as well as wedding magazines and blogs that appreciate the quality of my photography! Thanks guys!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I didn’t want to write up a whole bunch of New Years resolutions this year but rather have a list of postive reinforcement messages to just help me keep a good balance and happiness in life. When I came accross the manifesto on Holstees‘ site I was hooked! It’s so perfect…as is the company….’Kickass products, sustainably made, with a social impact’. I thought i would share it on here incase you needed some positive reminders in your 2011 too! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I’m not sure if you know this…but I also love photographing little people. You can see more of these cute little nuggets over at www.freshphotographyblog.com ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
So, I have been putting off writing this blog post for a while now. Mainly because I feel like no words can adequately describe what an incredible year it has been for me. Gosh, so amazing! I feel fortunate to have photographed such gorgeous weddings and meet so many lovely people this year….to be flown to Europe to for an amazing wedding weekend….and to have my work featured on so many inspirational wedding blogs….it’s truly been a fantastic year! Its not that I don’t believe in my talent as a photographer….rather more I am surprised everyone loves my work THAT much! On that note I want to say a big THANK YOU for the support and encouragement I have received from some of the best wedding bloggers in the industry. I am grateful for the following leading wedding industry blogs for choosing me as a preferred vendor and featuring my work: Style Me Pretty – the ultimate wedding blog. Ruffled blog – full of vintagey goodness! Snippet & Ink – its like Redbull for your eyeballs. Green Wedding Shoes – red shoe wearers also allowed. 100 Layer Cake – revamped and ridiculously amazing. Brooklyn Bride – inspiration that isn’t just for NYC. Polkadot Bride – so cool it makes me want to go back home nearly ever other week. Beyond Beyond – the niceness that is Amma brings us the amazingness of the wedding world. Forget Me Knot – helpful steps to tying the knot. Hi-Fi – musical funkiness mixed with gorgeous weddings. The Lovliest Day – a cross between Ruffled and Rock-n-roll bride. Wedding Obsession – providing inspiration to modern Canadian brides. Whimsical Wonderland – English inspiration at it’s best. What makes it all the more amazing is….I love what I do. I really do love wedding days. I get to photograph such sweet people that are dressed beautifully and super happy….on one of the most special days of their life. That never gets old for me. I don’t want to sound cheesy here, but it truly is such an privileged to be able to share and document these memories in peoples lives. So, to the beautiful people who let me share their special day in 2010…THANK-YOU! 2011 is shaping up to be an even more amazing year…if that’s possible. So far it looks like I have two international weddings as well as a whole bunch nationally in Alaska, California, New York and Colorado….not to mention four confirmed magazine features! I love the life I live!!

Way to go! You were amazing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Every year the highly respected wedding blog Junebug Weddings features 50 of the most breathtakingly beautiful, emotionally touching, technically masterful, downright hilarious, outrageously innovative, and ridiculously AWESOME wedding photos of the year. The photos of some amazing photographers I admire are amongst the ‘winnners’.
Anyways, here are the photos I submitted.

Amazing shots here! Hope you have a great 2011 Alex ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It always ‘fuzzies’ my heart to hear about how my clients met and proposed. I especially love hearing stories like Clair and Mikes because it reminds me that sometimes we do need to go with our gut feelings and just see where the journey of love takes us. Here’s part of Clairs email to me…isn’t she adorable!! ”I’m definitely enthusiastic about your work. It makes me smile from ear to ear. Mike and I actually met online! I was a beginner at snowboarding and loved it. Unfortunately I was living in Phoenix. Bored and dreaming of snow, I went to look at pretty gear on Burton’s website. I saw they had a message board and got hooked reading through the threads to kill down time at work. Despite not knowing anything about him, my gut told me to send a hello message to Mike. We became friends with no other intentions, but when I came out to visit Colorado we were both done for. And here we are getting hitched! He asked my dad in secret, bought the ring on his own and proposed to me on a trip to San Fran for our 1st anniversary. It happened fast but at the risk of sounding like a cliche, it feels like I’ve known him forever.” I am stupidly excited to be shooting their wedding in March at the gorgeous venue of Mile High Station in Denver….can’t wait!
